Any ideas what could be happening or if there’s a way round this?Īny help greatly received, really want to get this process right to help in future projects. All lux values are too low (if that’s what the units actually are) compared with what the manufacturers website say they should be. I’ve just read up about the light meter helper and so have added that, then turned off all other lights to see what values appear. Reading various other threads online people seem to suggest turning up the multipliers of the lights which does work but then I feel like I’ve lost the accuracy of the lights and makes me wonder what the point of using photometric lights is at all. I’m finding that the IES lights are showing up way too dark. This is a requirement of the guidelines I have to follow as the goal is to minimise the margin for error. I’m using VRay mainly because of the process needed for these photomontages - using the vray utility to make a distortion map of the camera and lens combo I used to take the photos then recreating each camera view including the EXIF settings used at the time of capture then making a panorama, finally stitching together in photoshop. I’ve also added IES lights for all of the street lights (again from the right manufacturer). I’ve made a scene which will be for a night photomontage - basically a bridge over a road - and have added IES lights inside the bridge (it’s kind of a tunnel) from the correct manufacturers. I’ve been trawling the net reading tutorials to get my head around it all, my aim being to get more active in this community.

I’m fairly new to VRay but am starting to get the hang of it.
